Fencing

Automated Gates with Idaho Fence Contractor

Property owners who are interested in greater privacy and security often choose to install an automated gate. From inside the house or the car, a homeowner can control the entrance onto their property for better peace of mind. We work with you to address the security needs that are unique to your property, and install devices that help you monitor and communicate with visitors. All our gates are installed to UL325 Standards.

How it works

From first call to finished job

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about your project

Fence type, rough length and height, the gates you need and your address. A photo or a quick sketch of the yard helps.

  2. Step 2

    Measure and plan

The fence line is measured and walked with you: corners, gates, slopes, trees and anything in the way, plus property lines and city or HOA rules.

  3. Step 3

    A clear quote

You get a quote that spells out the materials, height, length, gates and how the posts will be set, so it's easy to compare.

  4. Step 4

    Installation

Underground lines are marked through 811 before digging, then posts are set and panels, rails and gates go up. The site is cleaned up when the work is done.

FAQ

Automated Gates: common questions

Why does my gate sag?

Usually because the hinge post has leaned, the frame has racked out of square, or the hinges are too small. An anti-sag cable can help a wood gate, but a leaning post has to be reset or replaced to fix the problem for good.

How wide should a gate be?

A walk gate around 4 ft wide fits a mower or wheelbarrow comfortably. For vehicles, trailers or RVs, double drive gates of 10 to 12 ft or more are common; measure your widest vehicle and add room to maneuver.

Can a gate be added to my existing fence?

In most cases, yes. A section of fence is removed, new gate posts are set to carry the weight, and the gate is built to match the rest of the fence.
